Specimen Spotlight
Evan Nie / Cybernetic Botanist with the CHL
Evan Nie is a botanical researcher from the United States best know for his experiments pertaining to the Leveque Artifacts. The sealed bottle that was discovered containing seeds of unknown origin and a partial notebook from the vanished 1893 expedition of the French Canadian naturalist Ivan Leveque.
Evan Nie's early research and cultivation of The Leveque Specimen raised more questions than answers. This species has the ability to break down and utilize a host of materials as sustenance including silicate, ferrous metals and sentimental value. But it was the plant's electromagnetic properties that led him to seek out a top tier laboratory that would have the technology and specialists to fully harness the capabilities of The Specimen.
Teaming up with the Cybernetic Horticulture Lab, work began on full spectral analysis of The Specimen, uncovering its hypersonic, infrared, and emotional emissions. In the CHL's most recent studies, The Specimen was found to amplify some visual, auditory, and electromagnetic signals.
For tonight's demonstration Specimen LK-NI-05-CD2-26 will be linked with the Gesture Recognition System to test its effects on the software and test subject perceptions, if any.
